This vest was the first item I knitted for my husband. He chose the colors himself for his favorite baseball team. The front and back are quite easy to knit up. Because the gauge is so small and the fabric is plain, I had to be careful that the stitches were even and the yarn did not get twisted so that the fabric looked consistent. Sewing the two pieces together was easy, too, but beware of matching up the stripes properly. I haven't yet figured out how to match the pieces exactly right, as if it were a seamless sweater. The arm bands and neckband were simple to pick up and knit around except that I didn't have enough double-pointed needles. I had to improvise with some single-pointed needles, taking them out and changing their direction for each new round. Since there wasn't a lot of color changing, the number of loose ends to tuck in were minimal--yea! Completed July 7, 2002.
